Yriangle ABC is congruent to Triangle PQR Ab=9cm BC=4.5cm AC=6cm PR=8cm find PQ+QR?

Given:  ΔABC  is Simialr  to ΔPQR  Ab=9cm BC=4.5cm AC=6cm PR=8cm

To find :  PQ + QR

Solution:

Correction : traingles are similar

ΔABC  is Similar  to ΔPQR

AB /PQ  = AC /PR = BC/ QR

9/PQ = 6/8  = 4.5/QR

=>9/PQ = 3/4  = 4.5/QR

9/PQ = 3/4

=> PQ = 12

3/4  = 4.5/QR

=> QR = 6

PQ + QR  = 12 + 6  = 18 cm

PQ + QR  =  18 cm

Solution:

  • Since the triangles are similar to each other,  the ratio of the sides of the triangle will be equal.
  • So AB / PQ = BC / QR = AC / PR
  • Let PQ = x, then:

          AB / x  =  AC / PR

          9 / x = 6 / 8

          x = 12 cm

  • Similarly,
  • Let QR = y, then:

          BC / QR = AC / PR

          4.5 / y = 6 / 8

          y = 6 cm

  • So we have asked x + y = 12 + 6 = 18 cm

Answer:

               So the value of PQ + QR = 18 cm.
