Explanation: YUVA which stands for Youth Unite for Victory on AIDS was launched in 2006 June by India's Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in association with the National AIDS Control Organisation.The program also included the 7 local youth-oriented organisations.
This nationwide plan was designed with the intend to bring awareness in youth regarding HIV/AIDS and also provide preventive information and action messages . The primary motive of this program was to ensure that the youth of India have correct information, skill and entry to HIV prevention services/centers in a safe, helpful and supportive surroundings. The program laid emphasis on reaching out to migrant workers who were at a higher risk of getting infected by this deadly disease.
