Answer:

Given,

Number of stamps Zarinah has = 105

Number of stamps Norman has = 72

Let the number of stamps given by Norman be x

So, after giving the stamps, number of stamps Zarinah will have = x + 105

And number of stamps Norman will have = 72 - x

The equation so formed will be,

105 + x = 2 (72 - x)

=> 105 + x = 144 - 2x

=> x + 2x = 144 - 105

=> 3x = 39

=> x = 39/3

=> x = 13

So,number of stamps Zarinah has =

=> 105 + x = 105 + 13 = 118

And number of stamps Norman has =

=> 72 - x = 72 - 13 = 59
