Anything of taking the form p/q is rational.

1/2 is of the form p/q. Hence, 1/2 is rational.

2/3 is of the form p/q. Hence 2/3 is rational.

0/2 is of the form p/q. Hence 0/2 is rational.

But wait… 0/2 is nothing but 0.

And also, Before 0 , there are only negative numbers..


So, it can be said that 0 is the smallest rational number.
