Answer:

 \\

  \sf \dfrac{ - 7}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

 \\

Zero of the polynomial means the the number which when substituted in the value of (x) gives the product or the final outcome as zero.

 \\

The easiest way to find the zero of the polynomial is :

 \\

  • Make the equation equal to zero .
  • Transpose the constant term and change its sign .
  • Take the value of (x) and transpose the remaining terms.

 \\

Following the above information we solve the given question as :

 \\

 \longrightarrow \sf p(x) \:  = 4x + 7  \\   \\\longrightarrow   \sf \:4x + 7 = 0 \\   \\\longrightarrow   \sf \:4x =  0 - 7 \\   \\\longrightarrow   \sf \:4x =  - 7 \\  \\\longrightarrow   \sf \:x =  \dfrac{ - 7}{4}
