5x2- 4x- 1
5x2- (5-1)x- 1
5x2- 5x +x - 1
5x (x-1) +1(x -1)
(5x+ 1)(x- 1)
x= -1/5
x=1

5x² - 4x - 1
By Quadratic formula
d= 16+20=36
x= (4+6)/2=10/2=5
and x=(4-6)/2=-2/2=-1
Hence the zeroes are 5 and -1
