In general, In a quadratic equation like, ax² + bx +c = 0, The sum of zeroes of is -b/a,

The given Polynomial ,
x² - 6x + 7,
So by the statement, The sum of zeroes of this Polynomial is -(-6)/1 = 6,

Another method,
First, Let us find zeroes of polynomial and find the sum,

Zeroes of the polynomial is (-b+√(b²-4ac))/2a and, (-b-√b²-4ac)2a,

Add them, We get -(b-b)/2a,
=> -2b/2a
=> -b/a again,

So therefore the sum of zeroes of the given polynomial is 6,

Hope you understand, Have a great day !
Thanking you, bunti 360 !
