Prometheus wanted to give fire to humans(his creation). Zeus said no and forbade it but Prometheus was determined so he stole it from the hearth of Hestia. He gave it to humans and the founding of fire propelled them forward and they started to have civilized civilization. Eventually, Zeus “warmed” up to humans but at the time he got angry that Prometheus disobeyed him so he chained him to a rock and had a eagle come over to him every day and eat out his liver. Eventually Hercules came along and freed him for inforamtion.
