☆A transition element are those element which have incompletely filled d orbitals in its ground state or any one of its oxidation states , zn , cd and hg have full d10 configuration in their ground state as well as their common oxidation state .

and hence , do not show the property of typical transition metal .

The electronic configuration for zinc , mercury and cadmium end with

n-1d10 , in graund state and in ionization state x+2

if d completly fild with electrons in ground stare and ionization , the element not transition
