When Hcl react with aluminium a protective cover of Al2O3 is formed which prevent further reaction to continue the reaction the layer of aluminum oxide should be removed whereas there is no such layer formed with Zn ,so Hcl react faster with Zn then Al due to the formation of Al2O3 layer which protects the metal.
