Zinc liberates hydrogen gas when reacted with dilute hydrochloride acid, whereas copper does not. Explain, why?

this is because copper being less reactive then hydrogen, copper can not displace hydrogen. you can search in google images the reactivity series of metals wherein you can clearly make the difference.
