Zinc liberates hydrogen gas when reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid, whereas copper does not.Explain why and also write the equation.

copper does not liberate hydrogen gas as copper cannot displace hydrogen as it is less reactive than hydrogen gas from HCl
Cu+HCl ---- not possible
