Zinc liberates hydrogen gas when reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid, whereas copper does not. ... It means that zinc oxidises (loses electrons) more easily than hydrogen whereas copper does not do so. So, copper does not displace hydrogen from dilute acids.

copper belongs to d block and when we write it's electronic configuration we can notice that it has stable configuration hence it do not liberate hydrogen when reacted with HCl
