A) Word Equation:

Zinc + Iron (II) Sulphate ➝ Zinc Sulphate + Iron

B) Chemical Equation:

Zn + FeSO₄ ➝ ZnSO₄ + Fe

The colour changes from bluish green in Iron Sulphate to a colourless substance which is Zinc Sulphate.

C) Type of equation:

Displacement reaction

KNOW MORE:

  • Displacement reaction is a type of reaction in which an element of higher reactivity displaces a less reactive element from its compound.

Here, Zinc is more reactive than Iron and so, Zinc displaces Iron from its compound of Iron Sulphate.

  • There is no need to balance this particular displacement reaction because they are already balanced.
