Zinc rod was placed in FeSO4 solution for close to ten hours. what was the observation on removing that rod and why:
1) The zinc rod becomes thinner.
2) The zinc rod becomes thicker due to iron deposition.
3) The zinc rod remains as it is.
4) The zinc rod develops holes in it.

The answer will be (2) the zinc rod becomes thicker due to iron deposition.

It is because zinc is more reactive than iron in the FeSO4 solution and thus, the displacement reaction takes place and the colour of the solution also change a bit to become light in colour.
