Zinc react with excess sodium hydroxide to form sodium zincate(Na2ZnO2)

along with hydrogen gas. Zinc is a transition metal which shows moderate reactivity.Zinc reacts with NaOH to form sodium zincate with the evolution of hydrogen gas
