This is due to lanthanoid contraction.
This is a reason of poor screening by 4f electrons. The 6s electrons are drawn towards the nucleus, thus resulting in a smaller atomic radius.
As after lanthanum electron filling take place in f subshell.
Electrons present in f subshell didn't do good shielding due to which with the increasing atomic number or increasing effective nuclear charge size gets constricted and size of Halfenium and Zirconium becomes almost equal.
Due to the lanthanide contraction, the atomic size of the post–lanthanide elements (elements following the last element of the lanthanide series) becomes small.
