Explanation:
Depends, Conservatism means many things to many people. As far as it’s original intent, which is small governments and free markets, there are no real disadvantages, except for a slow start if you are going from a socialist economy to a free market one but once it’s in full swing the economy prospers (EX: Chile). As far as Neo-Conservatism, there are disadvantages in having a interventionist policy, they constantly compromise with the left, if you want to enter the US illegally, some of them are bought out by big business to allow for regulations that create an unfair advantage against small business, and the religious aspects of the right is a downside if you’re gay and want a government recognized marriage or if you want to kill your unborn child.
But for the most part, even with the downsides of the distorted version of Conservatism there are still far more advantages and the Conservatism economic policy has lifted numerous people out of poverty with a free market system. Even the Nordic Countries the left constantly claims are an example of the socialist economic system they want, are still largely free market economies they just have high taxes and even then those high taxes became a determent when they started letting in migrants.
Conservatism also defends the Constitution, which the left would rather remove so that they could begin censoring and disarming those who disagree with them. So Despite it’s flaws, it’s still FAR more preferable to the other side which has a really bad ideas on economics and liberties.
