because the acid reacts chemically with the metallic pots

but u can use aluminium to store food containing acids

because the acid in food react with the metallic container and evolve hydrogen gas and along with metallic Salts and thereby the causing spoilage of food
thus it is advised not to store food containing acids in metallic pots
but since aluminium on reacting with acid forms a coating of Aluminium oxide or metallic salt and is unable to react with acids therfore the food can be stored in Aluminium foil or pots
