The answer is 1.
Because 0/0 is meaningless.

Let me explain without math jargon or formulas.

What is zero?

It is ‘nothing’.

If you try to divide zero you are trying to divide nothing.

That is, you are not dividing anything.

So why do you expect a positive result?

To get the result of a division, you need to divide something that can be divided.

So if you have nothing, how can you divide it?

Imagine that you have a cake. You can divide it into two, three or any number and you will get small pieces of cake after the division.

But if you don’t have a cake at all, why should you get a whole cake (that is, 1?) by dividing it?

So that is why 0/0 is meaningless. Mathematicians call it ‘indeterminate’.

Hope this is clear to those not good at Mathematics.
