Definition of equivalent wt in terms of oxygen is how gram of that metal will react will 8g of oxygen.

Now we find the wt in grams of 46.6ml.
As we know 1 mol⇒22400ml,  So  46.6 ml is 46.6/22400moles=0.00208moles

weight in grams can be calculated by just multiplying with Molar mass of oxygen{32). That becomes 0.06657g

equivalent wt of metal react with 8 g oxygen
0.1 wt of metal react with 0.06657g of oxygen

Divide both relations and you will get equivalent wt as 12 grams

NomNomTNT: Thanks!
Milans88: Welcome
NomNomTNT: The eq wt of metal is 12. I understand how by your method.
Milans88: yes you r correct. large numericals. its 12

Hey mate here's your answer

22400 ml at STP = 1 mole of oxygen = 32 g 46.6 ml at STP = 3222400 × 46.6 = 0.06657 g of oxygen0.06657 g of oxygen combines with 0.1 g of the metalSo 8 g of oxygen combines with = 0.10.06657 × 8 = 12.02 gEquivalent weight of the metal = 12.02 g

Hope this helps you
