Given :    P(2) = 0

To find : one factor of p(x) from given options

(A) (r + 2) (B) (x - 2) (C) (x + 2) (D) (x² - 2)

Solution:

P(x) = 0

if we substitute x = a

& P (a ) = 0

=> a is a zero

&  x - a  is a factor

Now

P(2) = 0

=> a = 2

Hence x - 2 is a factor

one factor of p(x) is x - 2 if  P(2) = 0

option B is correct
