Pressure of B = mole fraction × total pressure

PB =(x/x + 0.5)×P ...........(1)

From ideal gas equation ,

PB × V = nB × R × T

PB = x × R × T / V...........(2)

From equation (1) and (2),

(x/x + 0.5) × P = x × R × T/V

Putting the values,

(x/x + 0.5) × 200 = x × R × 1000/10

On solving this,

We will get,

X = (4 - R/2R)
