Gases or gaseous molecules are always in motion.They are in random motion and have distinct velocities.In their random motion they collide with the other gas molecules.
Thus the gas molecules exert a pressure on each other and also on the walls of the container.

Gas neither has shape and size nor the volume.That's why it exerts pressure on the wall of container. If it is not sealed properly it can go out . hence, in order to keep it safe we should keep it in a sealed container.
Also in gases,the molecules are free to move and the intermolecular space between them is high.so gas exerts pressure when kept in a container
