Answer :-

Given :-

  • Selling price ( SP ) = Rs. 155
  • Loss = 16⅔ %

To Find :-

  • Cost price

Solution :-

We know that,

\sf CP = \dfrac{100}{100 - loss \%} \times SP

Substituting the values :-

\implies\sf CP = \dfrac{100}{100 - 16 \dfrac{2}{3}} \times 155

\implies\sf CP = \dfrac{100}{100 - \dfrac{50}{3}} \times 155

\implies\sf CP = \dfrac{100}{\dfrac{3(100) - 50}{3}} \times 155

\implies\sf CP = \dfrac{100}{\dfrac{300 - 50}{3}} \times 155

\implies\sf CP = \dfrac{100}{\dfrac{250}{3}} \times 155

\implies\sf CP = \dfrac{10\cancel{0} \times 3}{25\cancel{0}} \times 155

\implies\sf CP = \dfrac{30}{25} \times 155

\implies\sf CP = 186

Cost price of the article = Rs. 186

On selling an article for Rs.155 a man bears loss of 16⅔ . Find the cost price of article.

GiveN :

  • selling price of an article = Rs.155
  • loss of 16⅔

To FiNd :

  • The cost price of article.

Formula :

C.P=\frac{100}{100-Loss} *S.P

ANswer :

The cost price of article is 186

SolutioN :

By using the formula,

C.P=\frac{100}{100-Loss} *S.P

Now put the value,

\rightarrow C.P = \frac{100}{100-16\frac{2}{3} } * 155

\rightarrow C.P = \frac{100}{100-\frac{50}{3} } *155

\rightarrow C.P= \frac{\frac{100}{300-50} }3 *155

\rightarrow C.P = \frac{\frac{100}{250} }3 * 155

\rightarrow C.P = \frac{100*3}{250} *155

\rightarrow C.P= \frac{30}{25} *155

\rightarrow C.P = 186 \leftarrow

∴The cost price of article is 186.
