02. Ona see saw, two children of masses 30kg and
60 kg are sitting on one side of it at distances 2
mand 2.5 m respectively from the centre of the
see saw. Find the distance at which a man of
mass 75 kg should sit on the other side to balance

This question can be solved using the Principle of Moments.

Sum of Clockwise Moments = Sum of Anticlockwise Moments

Sum of Clockwise Moments = (2m * 30kg) + (2.5m * 60kg)

=60 kg.m + 150 kg.m

=210 kg.m

Hence, anticlockwise Moment= 210kg.m = 75 kg * m

m = 210 / 75 = 2.8m

Hence, The man should sit 2.8m on the other side of the See-Saw.
