Cells with a true nucleus i.e. have a membrane bound nucleus or well defined nucleus are called eukaryotic cells.

The eukaryotes include all the kingdoms except monera, i.e. protista, fungi, plantae and animalia.

Membrane bound organelles are present in eukaryotes which leads to extensive compartmentalization.

Mostly eukaryotes do not possess plasmids but some lower eukaryotes such as yeast can have plasmids. Eg. Sacchromyces cerevisae have a plasmid called 2u circle.
