Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

CP = 18 dozens at ₹ 50 per dozen.

SP = 18 dozens at ₹ 5.5 each egg.

To Prove:-

Loss or gain for the shopkeeper

Solution :-

★ A Shop keeper purchased 18 dozen eggs at ₹50 per dozen.

CP = Number * Rate

CP = ₹(18*50)

CP = ₹900

Now,

The Shopkeeper sold 18 dozens of eggs at ₹5.5 each.

\bold{ \red{1 \: Dozen = 12 \: each}{} }{}1Dozen=12each

=> Number of eggs = 18*12

★Number of eggs = 216

\begin{gathered}\bold{ \red{★Selling \: price = Number \times Rate}{} }{} \\ \\ SP = ₹(216 \times 5.5) = ₹ \: 1188\end{gathered}

★Sellingprice=Number×Rate

SP=₹(216×5.5)=₹1188

As by,

1188 > 900 = SP > CP

So, Its Profit.

The profit rate = 1188-900 = 288

Let us find the profit % = Profit/CP *100

Profit % = 288/900*100

Profit %= 32%

★ The profit = ₹288

★. The profit % = 32%

Answer:

It is given that

C.P. of one dozen eggs =12 eggs = Rs. 18

Profit =15%

We know that

S.P. of 12 eggs =[1+50/100] of Rs.18

It can be written as

=(150/100×18)

By further calculation

= (3/2 × 18)

So we get

=3×9

=Rs.27

S.P. of 1 egg =Rs.27/12

So we get

=Rs.9/4

=Rs.2.25
