This is also the essence of the meaning in physics, though in physics we need to be much more precise. Momentum is a measurement of mass in motion: how much mass is in how much motion. It is usually given the symbol p.

To prove- Momentum = ma = Force

since,

Through Newton second rule equal to change in momentum per unit time.

F= force

M = mass

U = initial velocity

V= final velocity

T= time

F= mv-mu/t

=m (v-u)/t ............(1)

from first equation of motion,

a=v-u/t

putting value of v-u/t in equation (1)

F=ma

Momentum = ma = Force

Hence proved.
