How to solve?

Here, we have to find %, which means amount or share of anything in terms of 100. Percentage, the word itself means per 100. So, it is calculated by:

This can be written as part/whole × 100.

But using this formula, which can find the percentage of students who come to school by different means.

(a)Total no. of students = 1664

  • No. of students by bus = 416

By using formula,

  • No. of students by foot = 624

By using formula,

  • No. of students who travel by other means = 1664 - (416 + 624) = 624
