Hcl and HNo3 shows acidic character in water because they dissociates to give H+ ions in water...

aq.solution of acid conducts electrocity because acids dissociates into ions in aq. form and ions are the carrier of electricity .

dry Hcl doesnt dissociates into ions so it doesn't change color of litmus paper
