 \frac{1}{2} - \frac{(9 - x)}{11} = \frac{3x}{12} \\ 132 \times \frac{1}{2} - \frac{(9 - x) \times 132}{11} = \frac{3x}{12} \times 132 \\ 66 - (108 - 12x) = 33x \\ 66 - 108 + 12x = 33x \\ 33x - 12x = 66 - 108 \\ 21x = - 42 \\ x = - \frac{42}{21} \\ x = - 2
Hope it helps you

 \frac{1}{2} - \frac{9 - x}{11} = \frac{3x}{12} \\ \\ \frac{11 - 2(9 - x)}{22} = \frac{3x}{12} \\ \\ \frac{11 - 18 + 2x}{22} = \frac{x}{4} \\ \\ \bf \: On \: cross \: multiplying \: we \: get \\ \\ 4( - 7 + 2x) = 22x \\ \\ - 28 + 8x = 22x \\ \\ - 28 = 22x - 8x \\ \\ 14x = - 28 \\ \\ x = - \frac{ 28}{14} \\ \\ x = - 2

If any doubt, please ask ;)
