Displacement means the shortest distance. Let suppose, you're living in New Delhi. You want to go to Kashmir. For example, the distance between New Delhi and Kashmir 600 Kms.
After staying there, you wish to return to New Delhi. And you did the same, your overall Trip's displacement was 0. You can apply the same fundamental on circular motion.
