We know that 1 × 2 = 2

So,

\boxed{Answer}=>

(-1) \: × \: (-2) \: => \: \cancel{(-}1) \: × \cancel{(-}2) \: => \: 1 \: × \: 2 \: = \: +2 \: or \: 2

Any negative number multiplied by other negative number, we get the answer as postive. As the negative sign gets cancelled.

But any negative number added to other negative number, we get answer as negative only.

The above are the rules of integers.
