Answer:

The fraction of ice that  melts is 0.25

Explanation:

Let the amount of ice that melt is of mass "m"

now we will have

m_1L = m_2 s \Delta T

so we have

m_2 = 1 kg

s = 1 cal/g C

L = 80 Cal/gm

\Delta T = 24^o C

now we have

m_1(80) = 1(1)(24)

m_1 = 0.3 kg

so the fraction of ice that melt is given is

f = \frac{0.3}{1.2}

f = 0.25
