1.25 gram of copper carbonate were added to a beaker of mass 20 gram containing hydrochloric acid after completion of chemical reaction the mass of the beaker and its contents was less than 21. 25 gram why does this happen????

CuCO3(s) + 2 HCl = CuCl2(aq) + H2O(l) + CO2
So the reduced mass is that of the carbondioxide
