• This is used to separate mixtures from compound.
• This is the process in which no new substances are from.
• This is Reversible change.
• It changes it's size and shape.
• For example :- Melting of ice , chopping wood and mixing sand in water...etc.

❖ $\large \sf \bold{Chemical \: change : }$

• This is the process in which we combines or add two substances to form new substance.
• This is non Reversible change.
• In this new substances are form.
• It changes it's colour , size and it's change its temperature after combining.
• For example :- Souring of milk , Rusting of iron and baking of cake.. etc.

• Mixture are those materials which are made up of two or more substances by physical combining.
• They do not have melting point.
• Mixture do not have boiling point.
• For example :- Fog, Air , Ink ..etc.

• Compound are those substances which are made of of two ore more elements by chemical bonding.
• They have fixed melting point.
• Compound have fixed boiling point.
• For example :- Pure water, Salts..etc.

Answer) The distinguish between a physical change and a chemical change are as follows :-

✦ Physical change :

• Physical change is a temporary change.
• A physical change affects only physical properties i.e, shape, size etc.
• Some examples of physical change are freezing of water, melting of wax etc.

✦ Chemical change :

• Chemical change is a permanent change.
• Chemical change affects both physical and chemical properties of the substances including its composition.
• A few examples of chemical change are digestion of food, burning of coal etc.

• Mixture are substances that are formed by physically mixing two or more substances.
• Mixture can be categorized as impure substance.
• Some examples of mixture are oil and water, sand and water etc.

❖ Compound :

• Compound are substances which can be formed as chemically combining two or more elements.
• Compound fall under pure substances.
• Some examples of compound are water, salt, baking soda etc.
