[(1-2x)+(1+2x)]/[(4x+1)+(x-3)]=1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

(1 - 2x + 1 + 2x) / (4x + 1 + x - 3) = 1/2

(eliminate -2x and 2x)

2 / (5x - 2) = 1/2

4=5x - 2

-5x = -2 - 4

-5x = -6

Divide -6 by -5

x=6/5
