1 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 9 + 11 + 13 + 15 = x^2.

We know that the sum of first n odd numbers is n^2.

And, in your question, number of odd terms (n) = 8.

Thus, it's sum = 8^2

But, it is given that the sum of the given series is x^2.

=> 8^2 = x^2

Equating exponents when base is same,

=> x = 8.

Hence, the value of x satisfying above equation is x = 8.
