according to question, 1/4 of the tank is contained fuel.

e.g., amount of fuel in the tank = x/4

now 11 litre fuel is poured into the tank the indicator rest at 1/2 mark.

e.g., x/4 + 11 = x/2

=> x/4 + 11 = x/2

=> 11 = x/2 - x/4 = x/4

=> x = 11 × 4 = 44 litres

hence, capacity of the tank is 44 litres.
