Answer:

Our bodies are not symmetrical. It's the way nature works; many people also have one eye that's bigger/higher than the other, one nostril that's bigger than the other, etc. Nearsighted eyes are longer than 20/20 eyes, and just like anything one eye is longer than the other. As far as I'm concerned, it's unusual NOT to have identical lens prescription in each eye; some people even have one eye that sees 20/20 and one eye that is nearsighted, or one eye that is nearsighted and another that is farsighted!

As for when to wear your glasses, it depends on how much you need them. I have a much stronger prescription, and I have contacts, but whenever I can't wear my contacts I ALWAYS have my glasses off unless I need to read something; i do not like to wear glasses.

Whether you wear your glasses all the time or not will not affect how your eyes develop, or whether your prescription worsens or not. If you drive, then you must wear your glasses by law. I suggest you carry them with you like I do if you don't want to wear them. However, if you're just going out with friends and you aren't going to drive, don't bother bringing them :
