Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

1.5x+2.4y=1.8

2.5(x+1)=7y

To find :-

Solve the pair of linear equations in two variables?

Solution :-

Given pair of linear equations in two variables are

1.5x+2.4y=1.8 ------(1)

On multiplying with 10 both sides then

=> 15x+24y = 18

=> 3(5x+8y) = 3×6

On cancelling 3 both sides

=> 5x+8y = 6 --------(2)

and

2.5(x+1)=7y -------(3)

=> 2.5x + 2.5 = 7y

On multiplying with 10 both sides then

=> 25x + 25 = 70y

=> 5(5x+5)=5×14y

On cancelling 5 both sides

=> 5x+5 = 14y

=>5x = 14y-5

=> x = (14y-5)/5 ----(4)

On Substituting the value of x in (2)

5x+8y = 6

=> 5[ (14y-5)/5]+8y = 6

=> (14y-5)+8y = 6

=> 14y+8y-5 = 6

=> 22y-5 = 6

=> 22y = 6+5

=> 22y = 11

=> y = 11/22

=> y = 1/2

On Substituting the value of y in (4)

x = (14y-5)/5

=> x = [(14×1/2)-5]/5

=> x = (7-5)/5

=>x = 2/5

Therefore, x = 2/5 and y = 1/2

Answer:-

The solution for the given problem is (2/5,1/2)

Check:-

Given equations are :

1.5x+2.4y=1.8---(1)

2.5(x+1)=7y------(2)

If x = 2/5 and y = 1/2 then LHS of (1)

=> 1.5(2/5)+2.4(1/2)

=> (3/5)+(2.4/2)

=>(3/5)+1.2

=> (3+6)/5

=> 9/5

=> 1 .8

=> RHS

LHS = RHS.

And LHS of (2)

2.5(x+1)

=> 2.5[(2/5)+1]

=> 2.5(2+5)/5

=> 2.5×7/5

=> 0.5×7

=> 3.5

RHS of (2)

7y

=>7×1/2

=>7/2

=> 3.5

LHS = RHS
