As these doesn't have same denominator we need to take ek LCM

LCM = 35 ( refer to the attachment for steps of LCM)

 \frac{1 \times5}{7 \times 5}  +  \frac{3 \times 7}{5 \times 7}

Do the calculation…

 =  \frac{5}{35}  +  \frac{21}{35}

As the denominators are equal, take the denominators as common…

 =  \frac{5 + 21}{35}

 \frac{26}{35}
