Let the rational constant be x.

Hence;

edge pieces= 3x

inside pieces=22x

A/Q;

Inside pieces=924

= 22x = 924

= x = 924/22

Therefore x=42

Hence,

Total number of pieces = 22x+3x

                                        = 924+3*42

                                        = 924+126

                                       =  1050
