Answer:

car = 72 km/per 2 h

train = 120 km /per 3 h

1 km = ½÷72

= 36 km

1 hour =36 km

1km = ⅓÷120

= 40 km

1 hour = 40km

Answer :

The ratio of their speed is 9 : 10

Step-by-step explanation :

Concept :-

First we need to find out the speeds of train and car, then we can get the ratio of their speed.

To Find,

  • The ratio of their speeds [ car and train ]

Solution,

Given that,

  • Distance covered by car = 72km
  • Time taken by car = 2 hours

  • Distance covered by trai = 120km
  • Time taken by train = 3 hours

As we know that,

Speed = Distance / Time, therefore,

Speed ( car )

» 72 / 2

» 36 km/h ★

The speed of car is 36 km/h.

Speed ( train )

» 120 / 3

» 40 km/h ★

The speed of train is 40 km/h.

Now, their ratio,

» Speed of car : Speed of train

» 36 km/h : 40 km/h

» 36 : 40

» 9 : 10 ★

Therefore, their ratio of speed is 9 : 10.
