1. A group of 72 people went for boating. 8 persons can sit in 1 boat. How
many boats were hired?
2. Sophie has a ribbon of length 96 cm. How many pieces of length 4 cm each
can she cut out from this?​

Here is your answer:-

1). No. of people = 72
No. of people can sit in one boat = 8
No. of boat needed =72 divided by 8
= 9 boats

2). Length of ribbon = 96 cm.
Length of ribbon cut = 4 cm.
No. Of pieces = 96 divided by 4
= 24 pieces of ribbon
