100% total potatoes and out of 100 %,10% potatoes got damaged

Remains 100%- 10%=90%

And from 90%,40% were used for making wafers ,it means 90%×40%÷100=36% potatoes used for making wafers

Then 90%-36%=54%

Is used for making French fries

Suppose x=Total potatoes

then,54 %= 162 kg potatoes were used for making French fries

so,for total potatoes

X × 54÷ 100=162

X×54=100 ×162

X= 162 × 100 ÷ 54

X= 300 kg

So ,the answer is man bought total 300 kg potatoes

in which 300 × 10%= 30 potatoes damaged

remains,300-30 = 270

from 270 ,40% used for wafers

so 270×40%=108

270-108=162kg

:-162 kg used for making French fries
