1. A rectangular field has a path 5 m wide running round it. If the rectangle formed by the
path and the field is 200 m x 60 m, find
(1) the area of the path, and​

Given,

Length of Larger Rectangle (L) = 200+5m = 205m

Breadth of Larger Rectangle (B) = 60+5m = 65m

Length of Smaller Rectangle (l) = 200m

Breadth of Smaller Rectangle (b) = 60m

Solution:-

Area of Path = Area of Larger Rectangle - Area of

Smaller Rectangle

Area of Path = L×B - l×b

Area of Path = (205×65 - 200×60) m²

Area of Path = (13325 - 12,000) m²

Area of Path = 1325 m²
