Let the number of students of arts be 5a and that of commerce be 6a

After 1 year,

Number of students of arts = 5a + 10 % of 5a

= 5a + 10 × 5a / 100

= 5a + a/2

= 11a / 2

Number of students of commerce = 6a + 20% of 6a

= 6a + 20 × 6a /100

= 6a + 6a/5

= 36a/5

Required ratio = ( 11a /2) /(36a/5)

= ( 11 / 2) ÷ (36 /5)

= ( 11 /2) × (5/36)

= 55 / 72

= 55:72
