1. A string of length one metre is cut into five equl parts. What
is the length of half of one such piece? How many

Given,

A string of length 1 m is cut into five equal parts.

To Find,

The length of half such piece in cm.

Solution,

Length of the string = 1 m

1 m = 100 cm

No. of parts to which the string is divided = 5

Measure of each part = \dfrac{100}{5}

= 20 cm

We have to find the half of the length of such a piece.

= \dfrac{20}{2}=10

∴ The length of half of such a piece of string is 10 cm.
